I've personally been using voice messages on a daily basis for years in apps such as Whatsapp, iMessage, Signal and Telegram. At some point, I started to wonder why this just wasn't possible in Gmail?

After a lot of research, I figured out that this was totally doable but that for some reason, no one had cared to build such an app.
